South Korea added categories of food for special medical purposes in Food Code. Japan revised pesticide and veterinary drug residue limits. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia published Guidelines for Baby Complementary Food, and India consulted on requirements of fortified milk powder.

Japan Standardizes Regulation of Liquid Infant Formula

Japan has revised its infant formula national standards to include standardization of liquid infant formula. The revision is based on the increasing popularity of this previously niche product category. It meanwhile revised Japan FSMP standards regarding infant formula for the ill.
