Canada proposed amendment to the List of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for Veterinary Drugs in Foods. New Zealand passed the Therapeutic Products Bill.

Taiwan Updates Residue Limits for Pesticides in Food and Animal Products

On June 15, 2023, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) released an amendment to Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods and Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Animal Products. The changes mainly include the addition, revision and deletion of pesticide residue limits. The amendment took effect on the date of promulgation.

Taiwan Amends the Residue Limits of 19 Pesticides in Foods
Feb 23, 2023
On February 17, 2023, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration released an amendment to Standards for Pesticide Residue Limits in Foods. The revision involves Appendix Table 1 of Article 3, in which 19 types of pesticides are added or amended, covering 107 maximum residue limit items. This amendment took effect on the date of promulgation.

Taiwan Releases Principles Dealing with Advertisements for Infant and Follow-up Formula, which Benefits Online Sales

On February 14, 2023, Taiwan unveiled the Principles Dealing with Advertisements for Infant and Follow-up Formula (hereinafter referred to as the Principles), which clarifies the advertisements definition and online sales for infant formula, follow-up infant formula, and infant formula for special medical purposes designed for consumers under the age of one. The Principles are supplementary administrative rules instead of regulatory orders, which became effective on the date of the announcement.
