Food Safety and Standards (Packaging and Labelling) Regulation, 2011

This regulation is applicable to food packaging and labeling in India. It includes packaging, labeling, manner of declaration, specific requirements/ restrictions on manner of labeling, restriction on advertisement, exemptions from labeling requirements, note.

The attached document includes the most up-to-date amendment in 2020, which will be effective on 1st
January, 2022.

This regulation has been divided into:

(i) the Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Regulations, 2018; and 

(ii) the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020.
