On 12 Jan 2015, China NHFPC released the revised draft of GB 9685 for public consultation. The standard name has been amended into "GB 9685-xxxx National Food Safety Standard Standard for Uses of Additives in Food Contact Materials and their Products", including 1316 food contact materials additives permitted to be used in China. The draft is subjet to a period of public consultation due by 15 Mar 2015 and is expected to be finalized in the middle of this year.
The revised GB 9685 was restructured to include the following parts:
