This is a new draft for the Food Safety and Standards, which applies to health supplements, nutraceuticals, foods for special dietary uses, foods for special medical purposes, prebiotic and probiotic Food in India. Besidies, the draft was further revised vide direction dated May 5, 2022 to permit additional food additives, and enzyme / proteins for Health Supplements.

Due to the finalization of these draft regulations taking longer than expected, it has been decided to re-implement the provisions of these regulations as stated in the directive dated March 29, 2022, along with the provisions stated in the directive dated May 5, 2022, effective from October 1, 2022.
