As revealed by a notice released on January 19, 2023, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) has solicited public opinions on an amendment to the currently effective GB 14880-2012 National Food Safety Standard Standard for the Use of Nutritional Fortification Substances in Foods. Major revisions include optimized terms and expressions, adjusted food categories, regulated requirements for“mass food fortification” and “voluntary food fortification” and revised requirements for permitted nutritional fortification substances and usage amount.
