Food Safety and Security Act

The FSSA consists of 17 parts, 405 sections, and 2 schedules, and will come into force in tranches. Tranche 1 comprises provisions relating to defined food (Parts 5 and 8) and non-packaged drinking water (Part 6) and came into force on 28 November 2025.  Other parts of the FSSA will be phased in.
