This regulation applies to products intended for athletes, including foods and beverages such as, but not limited to, powders, liquids, chewable or effervescent tablets, and bars. These products are mainly composed of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, or amino acids, and may also be prepared with one or more of the following ingredients: amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and plant extracts. The types of formulated supplementary sports foods include: high-carbohydrate supplementary sports food, supplementary sports food with protein and energy, supplementary sports food with energy, and sports drinks formulated as a rehydration fluid.
