On September 25, 2023, the National Health Commission of China issued several standards for food contact materials, including the newly released ink standards for the first time and important revisions to standards for plastics, rubber, metals, and composite materials. The introduction of these new national standards further improves the national standard system for food contact materials, expands the scope of covered products, enhances the compatibility between standards, better meets the needs of market regulation and industry development, and facilitates the control of food contact material safety.
