Background

On July 10, 2023, China State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) unveiled the updated "Administrative Measures for Registration of Infant and Young Children Milk Powder Formula Recipes". The new Administrative Measures cover the application and registration, labels and instructions, on-site inspection requirements, and legal responsibilities for enterprises that produce, sell, and import infant formula milk powder in China. The new version will come into force on October 1, 2023.
