This regulation is an improvement of Government Regulation 39/2021 concerning the Implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Sector, and aims to provide legal certainty and guarantees for the public regarding the halalness of products entering, circulating and traded in the territory of Indonesia.
The main provisions in this Government Regulation include:
a. implementation of JPH by BPJPH;
b. separation of PPH locations, places, and tools that must be separated from non-halal locations, places, and process tools, namely including the process of slaughtering, processing, storing, packaging, distributing, selling, and presenting products;
c. procedures for the establishment, accreditation, scope of activities, and revocation of approval for the establishment of LPH and the appointment and dismissal of Halal Auditors;
d. rights and obligations of Business Actors and procedures for the determination, duties, and facilitation of Halal Supervisors;
e. procedures for submitting applications for submission and renewal of halal certificates by BPJPH;
f. ease of halal certification for micro and small business actors who meet the halal standards set by BPJPH;
g. inclusion of Halal Labels and non-halal information;
h. supervision of JPH by BPJPH;
i. cooperation in the implementation of JPH by BPJPH with ministries that organize government affairs in the fields of industry, trade, health, agriculture, cooperatives and small and medium enterprises, domestically, abroad, and non-ministerial government institutions or non-structural institutions that carry out government duties in the field of drug and food supervision, standardization and Conformity Assessment, and accreditation as well as LPH and MUI;
j. product certification and halal certificate registration for foreign products;
k. types of products that are halal certified and stages of halal certification of types of products after the implementation of mandatory Halal Certificates for products circulating and traded in the territory of Indonesia;
l. community participation in the implementation of JPH; and
m. administrative sanctions for the implementation of JPH.
