This standard specifies the method for counting Escherichia coli (E. coli) in food.
The first method of this standard is applicable to the counting of E. coli in foods with low E. coli content; the second method is applicable to the counting of E. coli in foods with high E. coli content, and is not suitable for counting E. coli in shellfish and shellfish products.
