This regulation establishes the necessary criteria, procedures, scope of submitted data, and evaluation principles for the recognition of functional ingredients and standards/specifications for health functional foods, in accordance with the Health Functional Foods Act. It applies to ingredients not yet listed in the "Health Functional Food Code" or to amendments regarding functionality, intake, or manufacturing standards of existing ingredients.
