The regulation stipulates the requirements, procedures, scope of required documents, and evaluation principles necessary for the recognition of functional ingredients and standards/specifications for health functional foods in South Korea. It applies to new functional ingredients not listed in the Health Functional Food Code, as well as modifications to existing ingredients or products requiring individualized standards.
