Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoeb
Member (Food Industry and Production) of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority
Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoeb is a Member of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA), where he plays a key role in formulating and implementing national food safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and strengthening safe food management systems across Bangladesh. A distinguished academic with over 28 years of teaching and research experience, he is currently on deputation from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Dhaka. Dr. Shoeb has an extensive research portfolio, with more than 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals, contributing significantly to Food Safety, Analytical Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, and Environmental Chemistry. At BFSA, he leads efforts in regulatory development, compliance oversight, and food safety risk assessment across production and processing sectors. He is also actively engaged in raising awareness among consumers, policymakers, and food handlers on food safety and nutrition. His work promotes the adoption of internationally recognized best practices, including Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and ISO 22000 standards. Through his academic excellence, research contributions, and leadership in food safety governance, Professor Dr. Shoeb continues to advance public health and food safety in Bangladesh.
