Summary

This Standard is prescribed in accordance with the provision of Article 17 of the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation. It includes the maximum levels of metals in food, the maximum levels of mycotoxins in food and the maximum levels of other contaminants and toxins in food.

*As revealed by the MOHW notice, Taiwan FDA repealed the following 12 standards and replaced them with a new standard "Sanitation Standard for Contaminants and Toxins in Food". They are:

  1. Sanitation Standard for Eggs and Egg Products

  2. Sanitation Standard for Aquatic Animal

  3. Sanitation Standard for Edible Oils and Fats

  4. Sanitation Standard for the Tolerance of Mycotoxins in Foods

  5. Sanitation Standard for Algae Foods

  6. Sanitation Standard for Fresh Meats

  7. Standard for the Tolerance of Heavy Metals in Rice

  8. Sanitation Standard for Limit of 3-Monochloro-1, 2-propanediol in Soy Sauce

  9. Sanitation Standard for Food Grade Salt

  10. Standard for the Tolerance of Heavy Metals in Edible Offal of Cattle, Sheep, Pig and Poultry

  11. Sanitation Standard for the Tolerance of Heavy Metals in Mushrooms

  12. Standard for the Tolerance of Heavy Metals in Plant Origin
