Taiwan Enacts Labeling Rules of Food Flavoring

On 20 May 2014, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) released “Labeling Matters for Flavors in Food Additives” with immediate effect.

Legal ground: Item 2, Article 24, ACT GOVERNING FOOD SANITATION

Content: Flavors in food additives shall be labeled as “flavor”. Where the ingredient belongs to the category of natural flavor, the labeling of “natural flavor” is allowed to be present. For food ingredients other than flavors contained in food additives, specific names shall be used on labels.
