Taiwan Revised Dairy Product Mycotoxin Testing Methods

On May 24, 2018, Taiwan FDA issued an announcement detailing the amendment of testing method for aflatoxin M1 in dairy products.

1. Some unused equipment and reagent are removed, such as pH meter, glass fabric filter and sodium hydroxide

2. The standard solution content has changed from 0.001-0.5 ng/ml to 0.25-2 ng/ml

3. The extraction and purification procedures are revised, involving liquid milk, powdered milk, and fermented milk

4. The revised version states that the LOQ (limit of quantification) for liquid, powdered, and fermented milk are 0.01 ppb, 0.1 ppb and 0.05 ppb respectively.
