Thailand’s MOPH Notification No. 469 on food in hermetically sealed containers was published on May 18, 2026 and took effect on May 19, 2026, replacing Notification No. 355.
The new rule narrows product scope, removes overlapping requirements, and updates labeling obligations.
Businesses may need to amend product classifications and comply with revised rules on packaging, labeling, and food category reclassification.
On May 18, 2026, the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) officially published the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Notification No. 469 regarding Food in Hermetically Sealed Containers in the Royal Gazette, which replaces the previous Notification No. 355. Compared with the old version, this regulation redefines the scope of applicable products, streamlines compliance requirements to eliminate redundancy, and introduces new reclassification guidelines for production methods and food categories. The new regulation officially entered into force on May 19, 2026.
