Exhibition Registration and Concerns Related to the Covid-2019
The 3rd CIIE will be held from November 5 to 10th, 2020. Enterprises may log onto the official website [2] to register. Please be aware CIIE only accepts legally registered enterprises from foreign countries and regions, as well as China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Only goods produced overseas or service products provided from overseas can be accepted at the exhibition. View more rules and recruitment guides (English version) here [3].
In regards to the possibility of the Covid-19 pandemic influencing the schedule, for now it appears the exhibition will still be held on the scheduled date. In order to control the impact of the pandemic, all the business negotiations are conducted through non-contact methods such as telephone, video communication, and e-mail. The venue is the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), which is currently closed. For anyone who has to visit the site, he/she shall contact the CIIE bureau [4] in advance.
Although, in the short term, the disease has impacted China’s economy, it is expected to rebound. On March 13, 2020, China’s State Council released nineteen measures [5] to boost consumerism, including expanding imports through programs like CIIE. As revealed by the CIIE report [6], overseas enterprises are continuing to view china as a viable market. As of March 10, 2020, over 1000 enterprises have registered for the exhibition.
