On May 12, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) finalized its new proactive food chemical safety post-market assessment program, and launched reassessments of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and azodicarbonamide (ADA). Requests for Information (RFIs) regarding both substances were published in the Federal Register on May 13, 2026, with a 60-day public comment period.
