Food Sector Growth in China’s New Retail Era

According to Kantar data, the market value of China’s food and beverage sector grew by 4.7% (food) and 1.5% (beverage) in 2018, which are both below the overall growth rate seen in China’s FMCG sector (5.2%). During the Food and Beverage Innovation Forum 2019 (short for FBIF2019) held on Apr. 24 in Hangzhou, Jason Yu, Kantar’s general manager of greater China, and Steve Lin, senior research director, delivered a keynote speech offering their advice and insights on how food & beverage enterprises could increase growth under current market conditions.
