ASEAN updated its Maximum Use Levels of Food Additives after the 41st PFPWG meeting, expanding permitted additives under GMP conditions.
New enzymes and Bromelain are now allowed in multiple bakery, cereal, confectionery and chewing gum categories at GMP levels.
In late April 2026, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) officially updated its Maximum Use Levels of Food Additives. Following the 41st PFPWG meeting held in November 2025, the revised guidelines introduce several newly approved enzymes and additives across various food categories. This update represents a regulatory advancement from the previous guidelines established at the 39th meeting in late 2024, offering food manufacturers expanded options under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions.
