China Announces Approval of 3 New Food Raw Materials, 15 New Food Related Products and 6 New Food Additives

Nutritional fortification substances galactomannan and selenium-enriched yeast can now be used in food for special medical purposes (excluding infant formula food for special medical purposes) As anticaking agent, silicon dioxide is now applicable to FSMP targeted at 1 to 10 year-old consumer group.

As revealed by NHC announcement issued on May 29, 2019, 24 new ingredients have successfully undergone China’s safety evaluation and were granted approval, which includes 3 new food raw materials, 15 new varieties of food related products and 6 new varieties of food additives.
