China CFDA Clarified Health Food Registration Application Requirements

On Feb. 28, 2018, China CFDA released an announcement detailing the requirements when registration applicants apply to alter multiple registration items. There are 5 situations:

1. Technology transfer is not allowed when the application of other registration items are in progress

2. While technology transfer is in progress, an applicant can apply for alteration or registration extension at the same time. However, technology transfer will be terminated once the application of alteration or registration extension is accepted.

3. An applicant can apply for multiple alteration items as well as registration extension. If these items cannot be handled at the same time, the evaluation agency will inform the applicant of the reason. Alteration items will be stopped automatically if there is no objection within 10 working days.

4. When an applicant applies for multiple alteration items at different time, time limit of the last accepted item will be the finial deadline of all items.

5. An applicant can apply for alteration supplement if his name or address has changed during application process.
