Future
According to statements made by Liu Xuecong, the secretary of China Nutrition and Health Food Association, during an interview [2] at the beginning of 2019, there were about 600 recipes awaiting formal review of their infant formula registration dossiers.
On November 9th, 2018, Xiong Maoping, chief director of the Enterprise Registration Bureau of SAMR revealed during a briefing session held by the State Council [3] that, “SAMR will accelerate the registration of infant formula products and FSMPs.” During China's two sessions, NPC deputy Hu Jiqiang echoed these statements. Based on this we are expecting the review process and the rate of approval to increase over the coming months.
