Chinese Mainland Suspends the Import of Citrus Fruits and Certain Fish Products from Taiwan Area

According to a notice released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), starting from August 3, 2022, no import declaration of citrus fruits, chilled white hairtail, and frozen horse mackerel from Taiwan is going to be accepted.

As explained by the notice, since last year, GACC has repeatedly detected the quarantine pest, Planococcus minor, as well as excessive residues of fenthion and dimethoate in citrus fruits imported from Taiwan. In June this year, the packages of chilled white hairtail and frozen horse mackerel imported from Taiwan tested positive for Coronavirus. In order to prevent the risks, it is hereby decided to suspend the import of the above products from August 3, 2022, as per relevant laws, regulations, and standards in Chinese mainland.
