June and July witnessed great changes to Chinese national food safety standards. On June 23, 8 national hygienic standards were abolished and have been replaced by new national standards.

GB 2715-2005 Hygienic standard for grain
GB 2707-2005 Hygienic standard for fresh (frozen) livestock
GB 19643-2005 Hygienic standard for algae products (containing NO.1 modification list)
GB 19640-2005 Hygienic standard for cereal
GB 17399-2003 Hygienic standard for chewing gum
GB 14932.1-2003 Hygienic standard for edible soybean meal
GB 14884-2003 Hygienic standard for preserved fruit

Besides substitution, 79 new food related standards have entered into force since July 1, 2017, including 15 recommended national standards and 64 industry standards. These standards mainly concern food flavoring, wine inspection, and determination methods of exported food.
