Following public consultation on the amended draft of Organic Food Certification Rules in September this year,[1] China’s CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration of China) rolled out new Organic Food Certification List and Organic Food Certification Rules. Refer to news China’s CNCA Solicits Opinions on Organic Product Certification Rules for major changes information.
Organic Food Certification List with Immediate Effect
The new list includes 46 product categories and 1136 products. It is formulated based on the former certification list published in 2012 by CNCA and 6 supplemental lists released afterwards.
The list entered into effect immediately. Certificates issued prior to the 2019 edition can be used until the validity period expires; certified products produced within the validity term can use the certification mark until shelf-life ends.[2]
Organic Food Certification Rules
New rules will be effective starting Jan. 1, 2020. Relevant agencies are suggested to revise their management system accordingly and comply with GB/T 19630-2019 Requirements for the Production, Processing, Labeling and Management System of Organic Food at the same time.[3]
