In early March, Indonesia's BPOM officially released Regulation No. 3 of 2026, which amends the previous Regulation No. 13 of 2019 regarding the Maximum Limits of Microbial Contamination in Processed Foods. Set to take effect on March 26, 2026, this amendment introduces explicit maximum limits for microbial contamination in several newly specified food categories, and updates the contamination parameters for certain food categories.
