Indonesia Extends Product Scope of Mandatory Halal Certification in New Draft Decree

Indonesia notified the WTO of a draft decree that legally lists HS codes for products requiring mandatory halal certification, guiding importers and manufacturers on registration with BPJPH or recognized foreign bodies. The scope expands beyond food and beverages to include food additives, cosmetics, and natural medicines, with more detailed HS code breakdowns.

On November 6, 2025, Indonesia notified WTO via G/TBT/N/IDN/160/Add.2 regarding the harmonized system codes for types of products that are required to be Halal certified.
