BPJPH has drafted a WTO-notified regulation detailing when products must carry mandatory “Non-Halal” information, covering food, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, and chemicals that contain haram ingredients or are produced in non-compliant facilities.
On February 12, 2026, the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) of Indonesia notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a new draft regulation concerning the Form and Procedures for the Labelling of Non-Halal Information. This draft regulation serves as an implementation measure for Government Regulation No. 42 of 2024 and aims to provide legal certainty for products that are excluded from mandatory halal certification due to the presence of prohibited (haram) ingredients. The regulation applies to a wide range of sectors including food, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, and chemical products.
