Japan Revises the Food and Drug Ingredients Distinguishing List

Three ingredients are added into the list of substances that can be used as common food ingredients as long as they do not claim medicinal efficacy.

On November 1, 2021, Japan announced to revise the “Directory Distinguishing Food and Drug Ingredients” (hereinafter “the directory”). According to the revision, a total of five new ingredients have been added into the directory, and three ingredients have been revised. Details are as follows:
