KFDA revised “Guide to Genetically Modified Food Safety Assessment” on safety inspections and other matters.
On the 30th of January 2018, Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) announced the revision of “Guide to Genetically Modified Food Safety Assessment”. The main revised content include:
-Clearer Definition of official examination objectives in order to improve the efficiency of GM food inspections.
-Revision of materials submission range, with a focus on the safety of later hybrids.
-Tightening of GMO screening results requirements and revision of the extension of GM Assessment format.

China's overseas food manufacturer registration, commonly referred to as GACC/CIFER registration, has been in force since 2022 and applies to all foreign food manufacturers exporting to China. The system requires eligible producers to obtain registration prior to export, ensuring compliance with China's food safety and regulatory standards.
