On December 24, 2024, Malaysia issued P.U. (A) 449/2024, enacting the Consumer Protection (Electronic Trade Transaction) Regulations 2024, which took effect on December 25, 2024.
According to the Regulation, all online marketplace suppliers are required to disclose specific information on the online marketplace. They must not provide any information they know or reasonably believe to be false or misleading. Such information must be disclosed in the national language, and additional languages may also be used.
