New Zealand’s Newly Revised MRLs for Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals in 2024

New Zealand mainly amends MRLs Food Notice for 2 agricultural compounds, involving grains, eggs and meat.

Editor's Note: This article tracks the updates on New Zealand's revised MRLs in 2024.

New Zealand has its own standards for agricultural and veterinary chemical residues in food. The Food Notice: Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds, issued by the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI), sets forth these maximum residue levels (MRLs). Furthermore, imported food commodities can comply with either a MRL established in the Notice or a Codex MRL. This article offers an update on the changes to New Zealand's MRLs in 2024.
