China NHFPC and AQSIQ both announced important decisions on the regulation of imported flaxseed.
On 23rd of December, AQSIQ released a document allowing Russian flaxseed, oats, buckwheat and sunflower seeds to enter China and also setting corresponding quarantine requirements (Chinese).
On the 26th of December, NHFPC decided that the standard GB 19300 2014 "Nut and Seed Food" can be applied to flaxseeds used as foods, also asking for the inclusion of “to be consumed after cooking” and similar suggestions on product labels.

China's overseas food manufacturer registration, commonly referred to as GACC/CIFER registration, has been in force since 2022 and applies to all foreign food manufacturers exporting to China.
