China AQSIQ publishes Quarantine and Inspection Requirements for Imported USA beef

On 19th of June 2017, the Head Office of AQSIQ published the “Quarantine and Inspection requirements of imported USA beef”, destined to set the rules for the importation of this kind of product. In addition, we remind you that USA beef is allowed to be exported to China only if complying with the “Protocol on inspection and quarantine and veterinary hygiene requirements for USA beef imported to China for human consumption”(signed between China’s AQSIQ and US Ministry of Agriculture)and all relevant Chinese laws and regulations.

The document is divided into six articles. The first lists the type of beef products allowed to be imported, while the second one is about requirements for producers, that is to say registration with CNCA. The third article mentions Inspection and Quarantine proper and explains in details all requirements for both animal sources and imported US Beef. The fourth, fifth and sixth articles deal with Packaging, Certification and Storage & Transportation requirements respectively.
