Philippines Seeks Public Comment on Draft Guidelines for Food Nutrition and Health Claims

All nutrition and health claims, including those on the pre-approved lists, require prior evaluation and approval by FDA.

On December 17, 2025, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the Philippines released a draft circular detailing proposed guidelines on the use of nutrition and health claims in the labeling and marketing of prepackaged processed food products. The new regulation aims to establish a clear and scientifically-backed list of acceptable claims to protect consumers from misleading information and ensure fair industry competition. The FDA is inviting stakeholders to submit comments on the draft circular until January 15, 2026.
