On the last day of 2014, China NHFPC finalized the significant GB 2760-2014 National Food Safety Standard for Uses of Food Additives almost 2 years after its draft consultation (see CL Food News on 11 Apr 2013). It’s just like a new year’s “gift” from the government to the food industry. Both domestic and imported food products will be affected by this breaking regulatory update.
The newest version replaces its previous 2010 one and will take effect from 24 May 2015. Main changes between the two standards are summarized below:
