Thailand Proposes Amendments to Plant-Based Tea Regulations

The draft updates the positive list of raw materials by adding 105 new plant ingredients while removing licorice, with a one-year sell-through period for existing licorice-based products.

On March 18, 2026, the Thailand Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced a draft notification to amend its regulations governing plant-based teas. The proposed changes aim to broaden the product category, clarify legal ambiguities for manufacturers, and update the list of permissible ingredients. Any comments can be sent back before April 16, 2026.
