U.S. Amends Prior Notice Regulations for Imported Foods

Prior notice for foods arriving by international mail must include the mail service name and tracking number. After a notice of refusal/hold or FDA review response, submit prior notice within 10 days and facility registration information within 30 days.

On September 25, 2025, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a final rule amending its prior notice regulations for imported foods. The new rule introduces two key requirements:
