On July 12, SAMR Center for Food Evaluation publicized filing information of 54 imported vitamin and mineral supplements, 9 of which gained licenses in first half of 2019.[1] 5 manufacturers from US, Canada and Australia were involved, including a Swisse factory. A US based manufacturer Healthy Solutions filed two health foods intended for pregnant and lactating women. Details are:

Overview of Approved Vitamin and Mineral Supplements from 2017 to 2019
The dual track (filing & registration) system of health food in China kicked off in 2016 and the competent authority approved filing applications of 5 products in 2017 and 40 in 2018 in succession. These numbers do not exclude 3 products canceled after approval.
| What is health food in China? According to GB 16740-2014, health food in China refers to food products which claim to have specific health functions or supplement certain vitamins or minerals. What is dual-track system of health food?[2] According to Administrative Measures for Registration and Filing of Health Food (2016 version), health foods whose ingredients are not in the Health Food Ingredients List[3] or who are exported to China for the first time (exclude nutrient supplements) should register before market; health foods whose ingredients are in the List and nutrient supplements who are exported to China for the first time need filing. |
