CFDA Release Draft Guidelines on Development of Food Safety Traceability Systems

CFDA released a draft of the official practical guidance which will be used by industry to develop compliant internal food safety traceability systems.

On November 23, 2016, the CFDA released the draft of “Guidance on Building Food Safety Traceability for Food Producer and Operator” (hereafter called the Guidance) for public consultation. The consultation deadline is December 11th of 2016.

The Guidance is applicable to food producers and operators including food manufacturers, distributors, catering enterprises, food and agri-food transportation and storage enterprises. The CFDA will cooperate with CIQs to build a food safety traceability system that will cover the production, circulation, consumption and import/export of food and agri-food. The Guidance also introduced the data recording requirements.
