China AQSIQ Further Standardizes Imported Food Certification

AQSIQ announced recently a new documentation requirement for imported foods in China. Details are as follow:

• Type of Certificate

For qualified imported food, or food passing CIQ inspection and quarantine after rectification, a certificate of entry inspection and quarantine of goods will be issued. A sanitary certificate will no longer be issued.

• Wording of Certificate

Upon issuance of the certificate of entry inspection and quarantine of goods, in addition to fulfilling the information and contents requirements, the notice “The aforesaid goods have been through inspection and quarantine. The import is hereby granted.” (上述货物业经检验检疫监督管理，准予进口) shall be present on the certificate.

The announcement has become effective as of 28 Jul 2015. In case of any contradiction or inconsistency between the “Measures for the Administration of the Issuance of Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Certificates” and this Announcement, this Announcement shall prevail.
