On June 5, 2015, AQSIQ released the “Announcement on Further Standardizing the Management of Entry Ports for Imported Meat”, which was put into force on the same day of its announcement.
The current quarantine inspection practices for imported meat are implemented only at coastal or border ports will now be reformed to also include inland ports. The entry ports/inspection yards in inland cities of China will be strongly developed, and bulk shipment containers, seals and certificates for imported meat will be allowed to be transported directly to the inland ports/inspection yards to undergo quarantine inspection.
