On Apr. 20, 2021, General Administration of Customs of China (commonly abbreviated as GAC) released the list of non-compliant food products in this March1. A total of 172 batches of imported food from 27 countries/regions were rejected, with Taiwan, China at the top (14%, mostly snacks), followed by Italy (13%, mostly solid drinks).

1. Complementary Baby Food
Two batches of nutritious oatmeal and rice powder for infants and young children from Belgium failed customs clearance due to unqualified labeling and noncompliance with the calcium content requirements stipulated in the national standard One batch of wheatmeal for infants and young children from Germany was rejected for excessive moisture. 2. Health Supplement
One batch of collagen cereal powder from Taiwan, China, failed customs clearance for unqualified labeling. Eight batches of nutritious compound powders from the U.S were rejected due to the lack of required documents or evidential materials . Besides, one batch of dietary fiber tablets from Japan failed for the both issues mentioned above.
