On Dec. 18, 2020, China GAC released the list of non-compliant food products in Nov. 2020. [1] A total of 150 batches of imported food from 33 countries/regions were rejected.
The largest proportion of non-compliant imported food in November came from Taiwan, China (17.3%, most of which were snacks and beverages), followed by Vietnam (16.0%, mostly aquatic products) and Japan (14.0%). Regarding food category, beverages (involving wine, tea, milk drink, solid beverages, etc.) accounted for 25.3% in all non-compliant imported food in November. Top reasons for rejection was failure to obtain quarantine access, non-compliant food additives and unqualified labeling (See China Food Labeling Regulation for more information on how to make a compliant Chinese label).

Noteworthy Products
1. Dairy
One batch of phosphatidylcholine buttermilk powder from Germany failed customs clearance for lack of required documentation. One batch of milk tablet from New Zealand was rejected for non-compliant food additive magnesium stearate and unqualified labeling. Four batches of milk drink from Vietnam were rejected for lack of quarantine access and required documentation.
2. Supplements
One batch of CNP BACC Burst and one batch of CNP Creatine from Britain failed for unqualified labeling. Both products were supplements for bodybuilding. One batch of krill oil gelatinized confection from the USA failed for inconsistency between the cargo and the certificates. One batch of vitamin drink from Japan was rejected due to exceeding the use of nutritional fortification substances vitamin B1, vitamin B2, and folic acid.
