The second draft of China’s Food Safety Law, the overarching food law, was finally made public in the last days of 2014. Compared to the first draft which contained 159 articles in total, this version has been shortened to 143 articles. Improvements have been made based on feedback obtained during the public consultation process and recent changes in China's food regulatory environment.
