China Non-Compliant Food Data in April: 107 Batches of Food Rejected

The major reasons for food rejection in April were unqualified certificate and non-compliant label.

On May 15, 2018, China GAC announced non-compliant imported food data of April 2018, including 107 batches of food from 19 countries/regions. Beverage, confectionary and vegetable products accounted for the majority of import failures. Reasons for rejection mainly included unqualified certificate, non-compliant label and use of prohibited substance.

4 batches of cheese imported from France were rejected due to exceeding mould limitations. This occurrence is the latest in a string of non-compliance hygiene issues associated with French imported foods. On May 14, France decided to recall all Reblochon cheese produced by Chabert from a Cruseilles factory because of excessive E.coli contamination.
